Who is Seeing Double?
We are twin brothers in our senior year of college who’ve been writing music together since we were kids. Having taken piano lessons from a young age we have been exposed to music pretty much all of our lives. Sophomore year of high school we bought our first guitar (Fender Squire: $200.00) and taught ourselves the basics. The first recordings that we made were small projects for classes that were recorded on regular cassette tapes. It wasn’t until college that we started working with computer recording software and implementing dynamic instrumentals/vocals into our music
Now we’re finishing up our degrees in Economics and Finance (yes, we do have the same major, and we go to the same school, have the same roommates….etc), and while we know that our field of study can bring promising careers we are starting to take our music more seriously than ever before.
Purpose of this blog:
The goal of this blog is to get some contacts in the industry and hopefully get noticed by a record label. This may sound a bit ambitious, but we are confident that people will like our music and that we have what it takes to make this a reality. We think that this blog will serve multiple purposes:
A) Professional Recording – We have recorded one song in a studio (that can be heard on our MySpace page) but as most of you probably know studio time is not cheap. In the coming months it will be important for us to develop a solid demo package that will feature our work. To accomplish this we hope to use the proceeds from this website (generated through ads) for all the recordings. To prove that we’re putting this money to good use we will be constantly posting pictures, videos, and sounds clips of the new music that we are recording. We have a lot of songs ready to be recorded and the only thing missing is the funding.
B) Gaining Recognition – As more people learn about this blog hopefully our fan base can develop. The cool thing is, if we are fortunate enough to get our music heard, the readers of this blog can follow every step of our growth. We know that our potential success is completely dependent on our reader’s support, so we will do our best to respond to any comment or question written on this blog.
C) What happens if we get signed? – There are plenty of websites out there just trying to make some money. However, the purpose of this site is strictly to establish our music and not just to make a few extra bucks. So, if we are fortunate enough to get signed to a record label we will use a large portion of the proceeds from this site towards charity. We will be taking suggestions from our readers regarding which donation(s) the money should go to.
We hope that our readers are as excited about this as we are, and we know that with your support we can definitely achieve our goal.
